Michael Bongiovanni, MBA, graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Master’s in Accounting. He passed the CPA exam on his first sitting. He has experience with a “Big 4” CPA firm, as a CFO for a publicly-traded company, and with Greentree Financial Group, Inc. as its President.
Michael works with emerging companies to tailor a plan that will increase the likelihood of long-term success. Michael also studies industry trends and peer groups to develop financial forecasts and maximize enterprise valuation. Michael has an outstanding record of devising and implementing innovative means to capitalize on small, emerging, growth-oriented companies. He is skilled at creating financial plans that serve and promote corporate expansion, strength, and profitability.
Michael has experience across various industries, including automobile dealerships, real estate conglomerates, and broker/dealers. Alongside his background in consulting, accounting, and auditing, he offers valuable support in guiding clients with decisions and helping owner-managed entrepreneurial clients achieve their goals.
Michael is a member of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Venture Capital Committee. He also serves on the board of numerous not-for-profit committees. The mayor appointed him as trustee of a municipal trust fund and as a director of Crime Stoppers in Lake Norman, North Carolina.
Robert C. (Chris) Cottone graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Chris co-manages Greentree’s internal emerging growth fund and oversees the capital markets policies and procedures implemented by the firm including new project origination. Chris has experience working on new public listings, SPACs, bridge financing and PIPEs. In this role, Chris has been involved in several business combinations that have exceeded $1 billion in enterprise valuation. Chris is also responsible for monitoring legislative activities effecting securities issues. With more than two decades of service to the business community, Chris has been instrumental in guiding the careers of many of the nation’s new entrepreneurs. Chris heads many of Greentree’s community awareness programs that contribute to the Global Vision maintained at the firm. He is a frequent contributor to various publications and periodicals and lectures to professional organizations.
Tracy Luo, MS, graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Master’s degree in Economics. Tracy regularly assists publicly traded companies with their financial statement reporting obligations and periodic compliance filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Tracy has also assisted numerous clients with the conversion of their financial reporting systems, including the preparation of their pro forma and projected financial statements. Tracy has experience working on SPACs at Greentree and she has had a significant role in several de-SPAC transactions. Tracy has also recently served as the CFO on two $100 million+ SPAC’s. Tracy is a licensed CPA and is knowledgeable in U.S. and Chinese GAAP and is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
Ke Li graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, with a minor in Economics. Ke regularly assists publicly traded companies with their financial statement reporting obligations and periodic compliance filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Ke worked as an audit partner at a PCAOB audit firm for over 8 years where he was responsible for audits of both public and private companies. Ke assisted with the preparation of financial statements, the implementation of accounting functions, analyzing internal controls, and preparing financial forecasts/projections. Ke also helps companies identify and implement the proper accounting policies for complex transactions such as reverse mergers and acquisitions. Ke has experience working on SPACs at Greentree and has served as the CFO of a $100 million+ SPAC. Ke is a licensed CPA and is knowledgeable in U.S. and Chinese GAAP and is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
Joshua Wilson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Saint Leo University. He has successfully developed multiple globally recognized media brands and has built a vast network of investors, CEOs, and executive leaders. With extensive experience in business development and strategic networking for emerging growth companies, Joshua is also a licensed Real Estate Broker in Florida and holds a Series 79 Investment Banking license.
Gene Johnston graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He has worked with numerous public and private companies in various industries providing management and financial oversight for more than 30 years. For the past 15 years, he has worked with companies across many industries, specializing in reporting requirements, financial statement preparation, and reviews for startup to mid-sized publicly traded companies reporting to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Gene has expertise and experience in PCAOB financial auditing and internal control systems.
Leah Ren, MS, graduated from Florida International University with a double Masters degree in Finance and International Business. Leah has experience in financial audits, quarterly reviews, pre-audit adjustments, and financial statement preparation for US public companies. Leah has assisted numerous companies across many industries in their compliance filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Leah is fluent in English and Mandarin.
